Lisa Peek is an experienced lawyer at Hoogenraad & Haak, specialized in advertising law. She advises leading brands, agencies, and platforms across sectors such as retail, technology, lifestyle, and FMCG on a wide range of legal issues in the fields of advertising, media, e-commerce, and privacy.

Before joining Hoogenraad & Haak in 2022, Lisa worked for several years as a lawyer in intellectual property, privacy, IT, and media law at a leading Amsterdam law firm and a boutique firm in Utrecht. This broad background forms the foundation of her current practice, where she focuses on legal advice relating to advertising. Lisa has particular expertise in the use of generative AI in advertising, price and discount communication, and commercial contract, ranging from services agreements between agencies and advertisers to talent and influencer contracts. She also regularly advises on consumer law in the online context, including regarding pre-contractual information requirements, general terms and conditions, and overall webshop compliance. In addition, she supports clients with privacy matters, such as drafting and reviewing privacy and cookie policies and advising on direct marketing. Lisa is known for her thorough and clear advice, always with an eye on practical applicability and her clients’ (commercial) interests.

Alongside her advisory work, Lisa also represents clients in litigation before the civil courts and the Advertising Code Committee (ACC). For example, she has represented leading players in the food sector in ACC proceedings concerning their sustainability communications.

Lisa is actively involved in the International Advertising Association (IAA) Benelux, where, as a member of the AI team, she helps shape legal guidelines on artificial intelligence in advertising. She frequently speaks at conferences and leads workshops and webinars on this topic, both within and outside the IAA. Lisa is also a member of the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA), an international network of leading advertising law practitioners.

Lisa has registered intellectual property as her principal legal practice area in the Netherlands Bar’™s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister). Based on this registration, she is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in this principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
