Reclames Webcamsex.nl in strijd met goede smaak en fatsoen?
Voormalig Kane-zanger Dinand Woesthoff vond het maar niets: de grote billboards langs de A4 en de A5 waarop de halfnaakte pornoster Bobbi Eden te zien was, een reclame voor Webcamsex.nl. "Bobbi Eden in volle glorie… Wie gaat dat uitleggen aan alle kleine kinderen? Is dat waar we naartoe gaan?" En dus riep hij mensen op om een klacht in te dienen bij de Reclame Code Commissie (RCC). Want die ordinaire seksreclame langs de snelweg, dat gaat toch te ver? Daar is de Reclame Code Commissie het mee eens. Het College van Beroep van de RCC wijst op de vrijheid van meningsuiting van de adverteerder, maar maakt ook duidelijk dat deze vrijheid voor een commercieel bedrijf beperkter is dan voor een individu. In dit geval is Webcamsex.nl te ver gegaan. Een schaars geklede vrouw in een seksueel uitdagende pose, dat is in strijd met de goede smaak en het fatsoen.
Even later was het weer raak: een reclamemast met transseksueel Kelly van der Veer, aanhakend bij de Gay Pride (zie foto links). Weer Webcamsex.nl, weer langs de snelweg en weer schaars gekleed. Dit keer vond de RCC het echter niet te ver gaan. Doorslaggevende verschillen: een minder seksueel uitdagende pose en iets minder ontkleed. Geen strijd met de goede smaak en het fatsoen.
Ook een derde reclame-uiting van Webcamsex.nl zorgde deze zomer voor ophef: strandgangers in Wijk aan Zee werden – op zondag nog wel – geconfronteerd met een reclamesleepvlucht met de tekst: Webcamsex.nl. Ook nu een klacht bij de Reclame Code Commissie. Maar ook hier luidt het oordeel dat de uiting binnen het toelaatbare blijft. Belangrijk aspect: de RCC is terughoudend bij het beoordelen of een reclame in strijd is met de goede smaak en fatsoen. Bovendien moeten ook erotische diensten reclame kunnen maken, zij het (eveneens) met enige terughoudendheid. Die was voldoende in acht genomen bij de sleepvlucht, aldus de RCC.Dinand Woesthoff heeft in ieder geval één ding bereikt: meer naamsbekendheid voor Webcamsex.nl.

Webcamsex.nl ads contrary to good taste and decency?
Former front-man of the band Kane Dinand Woesthoff was not enticed at all: there were big billboards alongside the A4 and A5 motorways featuring the semi-clad porn star Bobbi Eden, an advertising for Webcamsex.nl. “Bobbi Eden in all her glory. Who will explain this to all the small children? Is this really the trend we are following?” And so he invited people to file a complaint with the Dutch Advertising Code Committee (RCC). For this cheap sex ad alongside the motorway crosses a boundary, doesn’t it? The RCC agrees. The Board of Appeal of the RCC reminds of the advertiser’s freedom of opinion, but also makes it clear that this freedom is more restricted for a commercial company than for an individual. In this case, Webcamsex.nl went too far. A scantily dressed female in a sexually enticing pose, this is contrary to good taste and decency.
Just shortly after, nudity struck again: an advertising column with the transsexual Kelly van der Veer, referring to the Gay Pride (see picture at the left). Again Webcamsex.nl, again alongside the motorway and again scantily dressed. However, this time the RCC found that this did not cross a boundary. Decisive differences: a less sexually enticing pose and a little bit less undressed. No breach of good taste and decency.
A third commercial communication of Webcamsex.nl also caused a stir this summer: beach-goers in Wijk aan Zee were faced – and this on a Sunday – with an aerial advertising plane displaying: Webcamsex.nl. Again a complaint with the RCC. However, here also the opinion is that the communication stays within the limits of what is permissible. Important aspect: the RCC is careful in assessing whether an ad is contrary to good taste and decency. Moreover erotic service providers should also be allowed to advertize, albeit (also) with some restraint. This was sufficiently respected in the aerial advertising, according to the RCC.Anyway, one thing Dinand Woesthoff achieved: more exposure for Webcamsex.nl.
